This week I’m going to ask you a question…
Have you ever had an argument with someone about something you were convinced you were right about?
Then – *gulp* – you realised you were completely wrong?
There’s that awful moment when you realise you’ve made a mistake.
Has that happened to you << Test First Name >>?
(It ALWAYS happens to me!)
The trouble is, most people aren’t brave enough to admit it. But hats off to Pam – she did this week.
After last week’s offer of some FREE help, Pam reached out to me. She was embarrassed but bit the bullet and took some action anyway.
You see I spoke with Pam a few months ago – she was interested in my 12 Week Plan but stuttered at the price so she opted for one of those happy-clappy slimming clubs instead.
You know – those ones that people only tell you about on Facebook after ‘weigh-in day’.
If they’ve lost weight after a day of SUFFERING eating invisible soup…
Only to then shut up when they’ve had a weekend binge with their mates.
Or they stopped going because they wanna have a life again, and are fed up of being hungry all the time.
Those diets!
Anyway…
Pam lost weight for a few weeks… but then it stopped.
To cut a long story short, after getting bored of the same old weekly weigh-in trips she ended up going off the rails and putting on some weight.
I’m not going to be too critical about these so-called clubs because at least they’re trying to help.
However, I don’t think people realise WHY they don’t work long term.
So let’s break down one of the most popular and heavily used ‘weight loss’ plans on the planet…
This is their plan…
Replace two meals of your choice with a ‘delicious’ Meal Replacement Shake or Bar (worth 200 calories), and have one x 500 calorie meal.
That’s a 900-calorie-a-day diet.
Add an optional three x 100 calorie snacks of your choice per day.
That’s a 1200 calorie per day diet. The 900 is what we call a selling point.
I must add that this IS clinically proven to help you lose weight and keep it off…
… provided you keep eating 900-1200 calories a day!
ANY diet at that amount of calories will do that. I COULD even clinically prove it.
Ok so now that’s clear…
Eat two and a half standard sized mars bars a day and a 500 calorie meal.
That 1125 calorie a day diet will get you the same amount of ‘weight’ loss.
This is basic thermodynamics.
The reason the shakes taste like mouldy fart juice is that there is a high likelihood you would over-consume them if they tasted like tasty cheesecake.
Keeping them tasting ‘OK’ is a strategy and has a purpose.
- IF I told someone eating 2.5 Mars bars a day and a 500 calorie meal would achieve weight loss, they wouldn’t believe me….
- IF I processed the mars bar up, rebranded it and got a few people to attest it worked, I would convince you though.
… DIETS always ultimately come down to calories.
If you think these things can ‘just get you kick-started’ then you’re kidding yourself – and troublesome times are ahead for you.
Do you want to live a life where you’re constantly battling being in control – and the moment you eat something you enjoy then the scales go up?
I didn’t think so.
Anyway…
… Pam realises this now. She had to do it the hard way and find out for herself but she gets it.
But remember: nothing is ever bad unless we learn from it – the best way out is always through.
I’m now looking forward to helping Pam towards longer-lasting results with my 12 Week Plan – The Female Version
The thing is, everything these clubs do, we do too – Yeah sometimes we get happy-clappy, but we have good reason to!
That’s just a small part the PSPT Inner Circle plays.
Oh and people CAN eat what they want on this plan – I’ll teach you how.
The only trouble you’ll have is choosing which of the 100 recipes you can try first.
I’ll leave you with that thought…
