At some point, every woman (and most men too, so fella’s… this also applies) will get frustrated with their weight.
Ultimately, how they look and feel about themselves.
You know what I mean, that reflection in the mirror doesn’t make you feel too good.
It gets you down, right?
Or those depressed thoughts that go run havoc through your mind when you can’t fit into those favourite clothes anymore.
Instead you just think about the person you used to be.
Maybe you’ll start to get those thoughts and feelings that leave you pondering how you no longer fit in with those closest around you anymore.
You possibly get put off with nights out with your mates.
They’re all so much more slimmer or leaner than you.
Does that sound like you right now?
They’re just some of the examples from previous clients I’ve worked with and successfully helped in the past.
It could be anything from feeling tired, lack of sleep, stress at work, mood swings to those food cravings that keep getting in the way of you eating healthier.
Whatever it is, something is holding you back to rediscovering that person you used to be and want to become again.
That’s how Jasmine felt.
Before she lost 10kg.
Jasmine decided Personal Training was her answer.

When she first contacted me about Personal Training, she was 63kg and feeling all of the negative things that I have mentioned above.
In fact, she had already lost 3kg.
But her progress stopped fairly quickly.
She had done what most people typically do.
Go on some really restrictive diet which left her feeling miserable, it had worked at the beginning… but progress soon wore off.
She was following the plan to the letter but still it wasn’t working. This plan came from a nutritionist too!!!
I’ve heard stories like that before.
Things are different with me.
I remember the early conversations that me and Jasmine had, there were 3 very common thoughts that I hear all of the time when it comes to people becoming frustrated with their weight loss attempts.
1.“I’m hungry all of the time, I can’t handle it?”
If I go more than 3 hours without food, I get so HANGRY.
You must have heard of that saying?
When you’re hungry and it leads to those unwanted anxious and angry feelings and thoughts.
It kills your mood!
Many relationships have experienced mental blows inside of this state of mind!!
Have you EVER felt like that?
Sure you have.
I certainly have, not so much now.
But these are feelings before I fully learnt certain ways to help keep my hunger controlled, and benefit my waistline.
Just like I’ve helped Jasmine and many others.
2. “How do I find more willpower to stick to my diet?”
If only I had more motivation to keep on track with my diet and eating plan.
It’s fair to say that most people have at least experienced a diet of some kind in their lifetime.
In fact, it’s fairly common that many people are regularly trying to diet in order to lose weight, only to find it too much of a struggle.
Often, feeling like a failure.
Maybe that’s why you’re reading this right now.
If that’s the case, don’t worry… that search for answers could finally be over for you.
I’ll explain more later on, but the following is common too…
3.“I don’t really eat that much, why can’t I lose weight?”
This calories-in-calories-out thing I’ve read about on Facebook and Instagram is total B.S.
My metabolism must be really slow and hindering my efforts and hard work.
It’s reported that when it comes to how many calories people put into their mouths, they can misreport by up to to 47%.
I know it’s a bit of an over-statement but that’s almost half.
I totally understand…
It’s easy to do.
The truth may be that people don’t eat much, I’ve seen and experienced that BUT… is this all of the time?
Probably not.
When people often under eat, they put themselves in that vulnerable position to overeat and go a little out of control and forget how much they’ve actually eaten.
Unfortunately, the average of these two don’t go in peoples favour.
These were familiar battles that Jasmine had.
Before she went on to lose 10kg with me on her Personal Training journey.
Before I discuss more about what we did, here is a quick overview of what could typically be causing problems when it comes to staying on track with food cravings.
Let’s see if one or two could be holding you back.
The 5 Food Cravings.
1. Nutritional Hunger
This is basically the brain asking for required nutrients, sometimes we’ll crave certain things because we’re lacking an essential nutrient.
So the brain is like, I need this, go and get it.
When you find ways to eat less processed food and what I refer to as single ingredients ones, does this have a very positive effect on your results.
2. Thirst
Hunger can be confused with dehydration. Single ingredient foods contain water; the brain knows this.
The problem occurs for the above where translation is mixed up, often because your state of mind.
Unfortunately… processed food is used instead, which lacks nutrients and water but has a ton of calories.
The problem is you end up in a loop that only makes things worse for you.
3. Variety
Most people struggle to eat more than 10 different food sources a week. Again, this leads to nutritional hunger, which creates nutrient deficiency.
Something I often find is that people’s knowledge of food can really improve when they start their Personal Training journey, my B.L.E.A.N nutrition coaching program helps with this.
4. Low Blood Sugar
(this is the silent assassin when it comes to staying on track)
Have you ever said to yourseIf, I could eat anything right now?
This is likely a glucose imbalance.
Unfortunately, we go into this reactive mode in these situations and overeat. We lose our sense of satiety and feeling full, you can just eat and eat.
It’s a slippery slope towards self-sabotage and possibly binge eating.
But don’t worry, I see this a lot. Just like with Jasmine, I helped her become more aware of her glucose patterns to help her detect and avoid triggers.
5. Emotional Hunger
Stress!
Have you ever had that bad day which led to a poor food choice?
Maybe a several bad hours ended up in a few days that you regretted, it possibly even went on for longer!
Sure you have… we all get those, right?
You had a rough day at work, you went home in a really bad mood and ended up eating loads of food you wouldn’t normally consume, maybe even alcohol too.
There are many ways to help combat stress, a quick one is to use exercise to help burn that negative mood off.
I’ve experienced many occasions where clients have come to see me for Personal Training in a bad mood but gone home feeling positive and in full control again.
So, how did Jasmine Lose 10kg?
It doesn’t matter what your goal is, if you want to lose weight, improve your health, become fitter or just have more energy, there are 3 KEY principles that I will always use at a Personal Training level.
This is exactly the approach I helped Jasmine with.
Exercise and Nutrition are 2 of those, my B.F.I.T and B.L.E.A.N Systems provide this… but where most will often fail is with the plan.
Setting your mind up for success.
Fail to plan and you plan to fail.
You’ve probably heard that been said thousands of times, but it’s often true.
You need to set yourself up to win, I do this by taking 4 steps with anything that I do.
Structure
It’s important to have some kind of map when it comes to exercise and nutrition, of course it’s important to have flexibility.
But when you have a guide, it’s easier to find your way around the gym and make those better choices to serve your lifestyle in and around the kitchen.
Simplicity
When you have a plan, the steps that you need to make in order to improve become simpler for you to perform.
And your success will come down to taking the complexity out of things and making them simpler.
Satisfaction
The simpler things become, the more likely you will enjoy the process and make them happen and with consistency.
There will of course be times when you don’t want to do certain things you know are good for you.
But providing they still offer you satisfaction once they’re completed, you’ll keep taking strides forward.
Sustainability
Your long-term results will come down to how long you can keep things up.
There is no point in getting on the wagon and then falling off it every other week.
Which is what typically happens, I help people who want to lose weight and improve their health but also keep it that way.
Change or Transformation?
Anyone can create short-term change, losing weight is fairly easy, but keeping it off is a different story altogether.
I help people who want to lose weight, improve their health AND stay that way.
Is that what you want too?
When you take a structured and simple approach which offers you satisfaction, and you have the right level of guidance and accountability… it is far easier to find a way that is sustainable.
Which helps you achieve that outcome of weight loss, improved health, fitness, motivation and energy.
