Everyone has watched Harry Potter, right?
Surely?
Well if you’ve been living under a rock for the past 10-15 years then Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling that were then turned into 8 World blockbusting films.
The series chronicles the adventures of a young wizard, Harry Potter ,and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
These characters are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The story concerns Harry’s quest to defeat the Dark wizard Lord Voldemort, who aims to become immortal, conquer the wizarding world, and destroy all those who stand in his way – especially Harry Potter!
Now I’m no Harry Potter expert but I’ve watched all the films and I love a good story.
To me Harry Potter is simply a classic English school story…
It’s about wizards and wands and magic and stuff like that. It’s nonetheless a classic English school story.
Harry Potter World may not be your thing or you may be considering going. Well if you are then I highly recommend it.
So I arrived at Kings Cross Station…
… and here I am at platform 9 and 3/4 charging into the wall to find the secret Hogwarts Express

And off I went…
Here I am in The Great Hall… I tell you what, they really need to sort out their eating habits here. It’s full of sweets, cake and chocolate. How do they stay so lean at this school? 😉
Anyway, I’m not here to talk about high carbs, insulin resistance and how to get rid of those stubborn belly fat problems….
…But I do remember my mum saying once that too many sweets will make me sick. She was clearly right.
As I said before then I’m not a massive Harry Potter fan but I really did enjoy the day and the appreciation of the efforts behind the scenes. I can certainly relate with what happens with my business and writing, creating fun and excitement for people I work with and serve.
My un-biased view of Harry Potter’s life…
From the outside window (and I’m not Harry Potter expert so I apologise if some of these facts are not quite right) then Harry Potter is ‘the one’ a bit like Neo in The Matrix.
^^^ Now that was a cool film!
Only the thing is… neither Harry nor Neo realised it.
You see, if Dumbledore had just come out with it that Harry had to destroy Voldemort then that would have been a pretty crap film and I don’t think they would have stretched it to eight films.
In fact, I’m sure Voldemort would’ve just kicked little Harry Potter’s ass if they’d have met from the beginning.
You see Harry had to develop and learn to overcome the problems that he faced; magical, social and emotional. He had to fall on his arse, fail and get back up again, and learn from his mistakes.
On any road to success then, perhaps the most important place to gain traction is on the learning curve…
Harry had to prepare himself for many years for the confrontation in this magical world that lay ahead.
He did this under the mentoring of his coach Dumbledore, which on his own would not have quite been enough. Harry needed the support of his friends to help pick him up when he was down.
The story of Harry Potter is something that we can relate to with our own fitness and health..
… and many other things in life.
At Phil Sims Personal Training you’ll find that we do things a little differently from the local competition. I use a neuroscience approach. What that means is you won’t find me telling people what to do.
The brain does not respond to this direct approach. If you’d like to find out more about this then drop me an email – it’s fascinating.
Don’t get me wrong, there are times when I will tell my members of the Inner Circle what to do. There’s a time and a place for everything.
Telling people what to do can create change… but for a true transformation to occur then a habit needs to be created to the point where you don’t even realise you are doing it.
And this only happens if you find a way for something that best suits your life.
Oh, and it has to be fun… because when have you done something over and over again that you didn’t like doing?
This is why training and nutrition needs to be enjoyed.
I’ll often quote that “people have the best answers that best suit their life”.
We’re all different and this is why generic advice never works for people long term. You need a 1-2-1 approach and that’s what I can provide you with.
So if you feel like you need some guidance
or…
- You’re not happy
- You feel overweight
- You don’t know where to start
- You want your energy back
- You want to wear your favourite clothes again…
… then with the right support and guidance then you could find all of these things easier and help you get your mojo back.
So just like Harry then, using a coaching perspective could help you make better decisions in your life. Decisions that could provide you better results.
You may be thinking that this is you, but you are worried that you don’t want to start all over again. Right?
Well it isn’t like that. If it hasn’t been working then it time to change. People who make that decison to change find results come their way faster than ever before here.
Why?
Well don’t forget about Harry’s friends.
You see, it isn’t all my doing.
Being part of my Inner Circle is half the reason why people get the better results around here in Leamington and further afield with my online clients. This is the reason why the slimming clubs CAN be a useful thing. They’re all part of a private group (they just miss the trick with the exercise part).
My Inner Circle is a friendly group where you’ll find no judgements. You can learn new stuff, ask anything you want (no question is silly for me), you have access to a private area 24/7 and you’re in a group where people are all doing the same stuff as you – moving forward for a better life.
I’m not going to tell you any more about my group right now but if you would like to know more then you only have to ask.
I’ll even meet you for a coffee if you’d like to talk it through.
