This week we did what we always do in June… as a TEAM…

..We run the TWO Castles 10k in Warwick.

It’s an AWESOME event ran by local charities.

For me it’s personal challenge and also a chace to get people involved who may of, in the past, had LIMITING beliefs about what they could achieve.

And this year was no different.

I’m going to hand this one over to Sam from this point on. Sam posted the below in the Inner Circle Members area on Sunday…

June 2014: I was sat in a chair, at Nicola Smyth (hairdressers) talking to the woman doing my colour; who was training for the Two Castles.

I can’t remember my exact words but they were something along the lines of…

“I could never do the Two Castles, or any other 10km for that matter, I can’t run…

..put me in the gym and I’m happy but god, running is not my thing, I’m really rubbish at it. I just can’t do it”

June 2016: Two Castles done & a 10km PB of 01:01:58 achieved.

I’m not sure what possessed me to sign up to this year’s run…

..the fact that I wanted a new challenge (outside of the weights room), the fact that I’d started doing a few runs and I wanted to see if I could, maybe, just complete an actual organised run.

The fact that other PSPT members were signing up and I got carried along in the wave of excitement…

Who knows, maybe it wasn’t just one thing, maybe it was a combination of all the above & more.

But I do know one thing; I would never have even considered signing up without the encouragement of Phil and the other members of PSPT.

Without the faith he put in me, the advice he gave me and the self-belief he instilled in me.

Even yesterday when I said “I’m nervous about all the hills”, Phil allied my nerves “for every uphill there is a downhill”.

That’s the thing you get from Phil. He has this ability to use logic and everything makes sense.

This week when I barely managed 5km and my head was questioning how the hell I would do double that, a PSPT member if the Inner Circle encouraged me by telling me to not be so hard on myself, and that a good run always follows a bad run (I don’t know if this is true, but I needed to hear that).

So thank you to Phil and every member of PSPT (there’s too many of you to tag)…for helping me set goals, for supporting me whilst I work on them, for encouraging me when I hit a wall, for celebrating with me when I achieve them…you all rock and I’m proud to be a part of Team PSPT!!
