This girl showed up the boys…

Last Sunday night I watched ‘Special Forces – Ultimate Hell‘.

It was the final and the last few were battling it out to be the toughest of the toughest!

If you’re unaware of this programme then I’ll explain…

It was an ultimate endurance challenge for 29 of the UK’s fittest men and women.

They were pushed beyond their mental and physical limits by battle-hardened veterans from the world’s toughest special forces.

It’s pretty hardcore stuff and a small insight into what our armed forces have to go through at the start of their training.

I’ve not watched all of these shows but in this final episode the remaining contestants were REALLY tested.

They had to run through the terrain and climbs of the Breacon Beacons – which is pretty tough going – even in a car!

The trouble is: they were being chased by the pros – so this task was designed to fail!

They were captured and then made the subject of a hooded interrogation, sleep deprivation and torture.

And the big surprise here?

It was one girl up against the guys – Claire Miller. Claire was clearly already a winner at this stage, being the only woman left.

But she was determined to prove that women are not the weaker gender she had a rock-like mind and went onto be crowned the winner!!

What a WARRIOR, right?

The meaning of the WARRIOR (in my eyes) is that of the person who gets knocked down and gets up to carry on to the finish line.

Too many stop at the first hurdle.

This is why people often fail with diets and exercise plans.

We all give up with stuff, don’t we?

But when you get back up (and if you have the support of others around you) you can keep on going and eventually be the winner!

The support of others is what you’ll get if you become part of my INNER CIRCLE.

This week one of our members in my INNER CIRCLE proved THAT GIRL CAN too!

Let me talk to you about Tricia…

Tricia ran the Tissington Trail on Sunday which is a half marathon trail run in Derby.
(This isn’t your standard, flat as a pancake road run.)

Unfortunately it did not go entirely to plan for Tricia.

Tricia experienced an injury half way through the course. This clearly knocked any chance of her running her target time, but she did carry on like the true warrior!

Things did, though, get the better of her.

Where most would’ve stopped, Tricia carried on, and was helped by her husband Mark across the finish line.

Another medal in the bag Tricia!

For those who don’t know Tricia, she’s just turned 60 years and is still fairly new to running.

We’ve been working on helping Tricia become a stronger runner with one of my running specific circuits.

She would never have imagined the success she’s achieved this year a few years back when she first stepped out with Regency Runners.

So this was a BLOODY HUGE achievement if you ask me.

Tricia this year completed the Wolf Run and also managed her first ever half marathon earlier in the year – you can read all about her story here.

So, when you face your next challenge, try and find the strength to keep going (whatever the challenge), won’t you?
